Filters decide which results you see at all. Set them once and every search on this device comes back the shape you want.

How to set them
- Open Settings › Search › Filters.
- Each group shows its options as chips. Tap one to switch it on or off.
- Nothing selected in a group means that group filters nothing.
The five groups
- Quality — 4K / 2160p, 1080p, 720p, 480p & Below. On a phone or a slow connection, turning off 4K is the most useful change here.
- Rip / Source — WEB / WEB-DL, BluRay / BRRip, HDRip / HDTV, DVDRip, CAM / TS, Other. Excluding CAM is the usual reason people come here.
- Language — thirteen audio languages, including Multi-Audio for releases carrying several.
- Dynamic range — pick SDR alone to exclude HDR sources. Worth doing if HDR looks washed out on your screen.
- Size — ten buckets from under 500 MB to over 40 GB, labelled by what they usually mean: Standard HD, High bitrate, Remux.
Size is skipped for TV series. Pack sizes are unreliable, so filtering on them would hide good results. It applies to movies only.
Filters behave differently when you press Play
- Browsing a source list, filters hide things. Ask for 1080p Blu-ray only and that is all the list shows.
- Pressing Play, filters rank things instead. Debrify prefers a full match, and if nothing matches it works down a ladder rather than refusing to play.
The ladder relaxes one thing at a time: everything you asked for, then without language, then without source type, then without size, and finally any available source. A strict filter never leaves you unable to play something — it just means what plays may not be exactly what you asked for.
It tells you when it does this. The loading overlay names the step it settled on — “without language match”, “any available source”. If a film starts in the wrong language or looks softer than expected, that line is the explanation.
Two things the ladder will not do: CAM sources sink below everything and are only used if you ticked CAM / TS yourself, and it never re-runs the search or discards a result — it only changes the order things are tried in. With no filters set, none of this applies.
Good to know
- If a browse list comes back empty, that is the filters hiding things — loosen one before assuming a source is down.
- Filters decide what is preferred; Addon priority decides which addon is asked first.
