Back up and restore

A backup is one encrypted file holding your services, addons, channels and preferences. Make one before you reinstall, switch devices, or try anything you might want to undo.

What it does

Backing up writes one encrypted file you can keep anywhere. Restoring reads it back into a profile — Debrify stages a complete copy and verifies it before anything becomes visible, so a restore that fails partway leaves your existing setup untouched.

Steps

  1. Open Settings › Data & Backup and choose Create Backup.
  2. Type a passphrase of at least 8 characters. Keep it safe — the file cannot be opened without it, and it cannot be recovered.
  3. Debrify saves the file and shows you where. Copy it off the device with a file manager, USB, or over the network.
  4. To bring it back, choose Restore from Backup, pick the file, and enter the passphrase.
  5. Confirm. Debrify names the destination profile before doing anything.

On a new device you can restore during setup instead — choose Restore from a backup on the welcome screen.

What is not included
